A Busy Day In Our Class

We are so busy these days!  We have mastered so many materials in our class, that we stay busy for the entire time that we have project work!  Take a look at all the action.........

Several of us have mastered the scissors......

We can cut for hours!  Just line us up with a long piece of paper and watch us go!

Occasionally the paint winds up in odd places!  But we always clean ourselves up..............

Some of us LOVE the oil pastels.......

If You Build It They Will Come!

Look closely  in our butterfly garden, and YES, we have a butterfly drinking nectar from one of our butterfly weeds!  How exciting!  Actually, it is like Little Wonders has its own "pet butterfly", because this butterfly has come to our garden everyday for the past week!  What a wonderful reward for everyone's hard work!  The children get so excited when they see the butterfly, and it just flies around them teasing them when they are outside! 

The children have also been observing the butterfly landing on the flowers, and this is a great way for them to understand the concept of how the butterfly eats! 

And, no, these pictures are not from national geographic ;0), Ms. Karla did an awesome job of capturing the beauty in our playground!  We are going to print these pictures so that the children can create paintings of these beautiful pictures!

Once again, we want to thank everyone who made the butterfly garden possible!  This is such a wonderful project and we are so glad that we are having such great results, the children are getting to experience so much from this!

Our Butterfly Garden!

Sam & Target

Yes!  The children of Little Wonders officially have pets!  We have adopted "Sam" and "Target"!!!  How can you not LOVE the names of our new little turtles????  Isn't it funny that these are the names the children came up with?  We absolutely LOVE it! 

Sam is the small one, and Target is the bigger turtle.  They were donated by Ms. Fauzia!  Dimi and Ereeni's family donated the tank, and Hendrix brought in some big rocks for them.

The children, according to licensing, are not allowed to hold them, so they will be cared for by the teachers and any parent who volunteers over holidays.

  The children will be able to observe them and learn about the responsibilities of caring for animals.

Aren't they so super cute??

The children helped clean and wash the new tank for them......

When the tank was clean, we put rocks and gravel in it.......

And then we put Sam and Target in......

The children LOVE them!  They are located by the art studio.  The children can say good morning and good evening to them when they come in and leave!

None of the staff have any real experience with turtles, so we welcome any advice, materials, or anything else that might make our turtles happy!

Hopefully Little Wonders will keep Sam and Target happy for many years to come!!!!

Butterfly Garden

Parents!

We have rescheduled our planting for the butterfly garden for Friday, November 12th.  We had bad luck with the rain, and the extra time will give the children more time to bring in their plants.

Please try to make time to be with us during the planting, we would love for the parents to be here.  We should begin around 3:00 pm.
